If losing weight enables you to enjoy this comprehensive array of one pot meals, count me in! You don't have to be following the Weight Watchers program to benefit from these creative dishes that use casseroles, bowls, slow cookers and an assortment of other kitchen dishes to make breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner entrees. Our only quarrel is that most of the recipes seem to use a lot of ingredients, so you better have a well-stocked pantry. This book could have used a section devoted to easy and quick with four ingredients at most. If you are following the WW program, each recipe indicates the Points Plus value so it's easy for you to keep track.
I purchased this book not as a subscriber to Weight Watchers, but just as someone who wants to cook healthy. I thought that based on the title, that the recipes would be fairly simple since it was called "One Pot". Well, that isn't necessarily true. While there are some great recipes in here, do not let the title fool you. You will need several pans for some of the recipes as well as a lot of prep work. So, the recipes themselves are good, but they are just not what I was expecting.
This cookbook offers more than just crock pot cooking, which is what comes to mind when you consider a one-pot cookbook. From roasted chicken to mini cheesecake recipes, this is a terrific cookbook for those following the WW smart points plan. It's actually quite a good cookbook for anyone looking for healthier meals and recipes for yourself, your family, or a gathering of friends. The mini cheesecake recipe alone has been a huge hit with many friends in the last few months, regardless whether they are watching their diet or not! Wish this book was available in a spiral bound option, but just put a heavy pot on the book and it'll stay on the page you need just fine.
I have quite a few Weight Watcher cookbooks, but this is my ALL-time favorite. The recipes in most of the WW cookbooks are a bit different and take some not-so normal ingredients, but this one is not like that. The ingredients in this cookbook contain typical home ingredients. The recipes are absolutely delicious and easy to prepare, using only one pan!Of course, the points plus value is included so you don't have to figure that out for yourself.Note: This does not include desserts, appetizers, and side dishes. This cookbook features main dishes only. However, you won't need side dishes with these dishes. Each recipes includes protein and vegetables and/or fruits. They're very filling, too.If you are thinking of buying one WW cookbook, buy this one. #1 on my list!This review is based on the book, not the Kindle version.
I don’t have time to search for WW recipes online so I went to Amazon to see what books are available and chose this one! (Glad I did)!!I just got the book but looking through most recipes are not complicated most ingredients you would normally have in pantry / if not, planning ahead will insure you have what you need.Many pictures along the way of recipes but many do not have pictures .Gives point and servings woth break down of servings with also a “Healthy Extra†of a side dish or a little further explanation of food in the recipe!Each new chapter gives a nice explanation and helpful information of the recipes in that particular section / ranging from In a skillet,in a wok,in a saucepan, roasting pan ,casserole.slow cooker etc! I believe they will make you feel like you are not “dietingâ€!!!I know this will be a well used cookbook through my weight loss adventure!! Why not 5 stars ? Wished it had even more pictures of recipes !!!
I bought this book for my wife for Mother's Day. She just started Weight Watchers a week ago and I realized that we didn't have any recipes to follow. I was a little concerned because we have to settle on the same thing for dinner, so she needed her diet friendly meals and I needed something that would hold me over. This book has a bunch of great recipes that anyone will enjoy. It doesn't even seem like it is diet food (although I guess that is the advantage of Weigh Watchers). The meals are simple, don't involve exotic ingredients, and have a lot of meat dishes. This is definitely not a lettuce, carrot, and grapefruit diet!This would make a great cookbook for anyone whether you are on a diet or not. I look forward to cooking these dishes!
This book needs more reviews- it is ABSOLUTELY worth the $. The recipes are affordable and easy to make.I have a bunch of cookbooks that I love but I think this might be my alltime favorite.First... REAL ingredients. By that I mean you can run to your local grocery to get them. There's a few "fancy" things in here but the VAST majority of the book is "doable" for the average person living in the "average" town.That is very attractive to me in a cookbook... with kids, a hungry husband and a hungry friend that is always here that's a big bonus!Second... many are fairly simple and quick... another bonus.Third... the book is HUGE. It's full of gorgeous photos and loads of tasty recipes. They have great seasonings and good serving sizes. I have a family of 4 + my friend so that's 5 I'm feeding.... Tonight I made a Gumbo out of it and we all loved it. It made the house smell wonderful while we waited for it to cook in the crockpot.I'd give this book 20 stars if I could :).
Very nice cookbook, however, I was expecting to find some pressure cooker recipes. Disappointed there were none included. I do not consider salads to be one pot meals. I wish that space was used for actual cooked food. I could come up with hundreds of salad variations on my own. Overall, very nice reference, but I would not have ordered it had I known no pressure cooker or air fryer recipes were included.
I rented this book at my local library and loved the recipes especially because they didn't have dairy in every recipe. The recipes are simple enough to make. I find many of these recipes are similar to the ones I watch on "The Kitchen" on the cooking channel.
